Shinto
Shinto is religion that originated in Japan and has no founder. The symbol, above, means harmony. Shinto is a nature-focused religion that is ancient mythological religion. Instead of having a holy book, in Shinto, they have the Ainu Texts and Scriptures. Shintoists believe in spirits, known as Kami. The main Kami is Amaterasu; she is the sun goddess and is the source of dynastic Japanese emperors. They also believe in family, traditions, reverence toward nature, physical cleanliness, Matsuri (festivals) to honor Kami. Their worship takes place in nature, a shrine, or a temple. They also believe that where ever there is nature, Kami live there. Also, when Shinto was first introduced, it was called a "folk" religion because it was made up of myths, disparate oral traditions, and shamanistic practices.
